Varanasi Famous Temple: The religious city of Kashi is on the world’s tourism map these days. Here is the ancient temple of Kashi Vishwanath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Lakhs of devotees come to this temple every day for darshan. Apart from Kashi Vishwanath, there are many famous temples here which are crowded with devotees.

There is a temple of Mother Annapurna near Kashi Vishwanath. There is a huge crowd of North Indian devotees along with South Indians in this temple. Mother Annapurna is the goddess of food. Due to her grace no one sleeps hungry in Kashi. Lord Shiva has also asked for alms from Mother Annapurna.

Sankat Mochan Temple is one of the historical and world famous temples of Varanasi. Goswami Tulsidas had made the idol of Hanuman ji here from cow dung. He had his darshan at this place. There is a huge crowd in this temple on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Every crisis goes away by his darshan.

Kalbhairav temple of Varanasi is also one of the famous temples. In Kashi, Kalbhairav is called Kotwal. Here, it is not Yamraj but Kalbhairav who keeps the account of the good and bad deeds of man. In Kashi, not even a leaf moves without his orders.

The temple of Kushmanda Devi located in Durgakund is also very famous. This temple is the Shaktipeeth of the Goddess. After killing the demon Shumbh-Ashumbh, the tired Devi rested here. Devotees from far and wide come to this temple for darshan.

Birla Temple of BHU is also one of the very beautiful and famous temples. It is also known as the New Vishwanath Temple. The peak of this temple is 252 feet high. This temple is said to be the temple with the highest peak in the world.
