Pushkar Ancient Baidyanath Temple: Pushkar’s ancient Baidyanath temple is a wonderful confluence of religious faith and natural beauty. In the month of Sawan, a special crowd of devotees throng here. It is believed that this Shivdham was founded by Lord Brahma himself. This place located in the lap of nature provides spiritual peace as well as a beautiful natural view to the devotees.
Baidyanath Temple located in Pushkar in Ajmer district of Rajasthan is a wonderful confluence of religious faith and natural beauty. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered to be the main center of faith for the devotees visiting the holy city of Pushkar.
Madan Singh Rawat, the priest of the temple, told Local 18 that the Shivling installed in the temple is very ancient and its relationship is believed to be from the time of Lord Brahma. This is the reason that this temple remains the center of faith for devotees.
It is believed that when Brahma ji performed Mahayagya in Pushkar for the creation of the universe, he established Shivalingas around Pushkar to protect the yajna so that no negative power in Mahadev could put any negative power in that yajna. One of these ancient Shivalingas is the Shivling of the Baidyanath temple, which still remains the center of faith of the devotees.
The priest further explained that on entering the temple, the stairs go down in a cave downwards. The Shivling of Lord Baidhanath is installed here. Devotees have also completed the Shiva family by installing the statue of Lord Ganesha, Karthikeya, Mata Parvati and Nandi here.
The waterfall flowing on all three sides enhances the beauty of this holy Dham. Devotees consider the water of the waterfall to be sacred and only by this water perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.
There is a fair of devotees here for the whole month of Sawan. At the same time, on the night of Chaudas on Mahashivaratri, a large number of devotees come on Jagran and Shivaratri.
