The tomb in Hyderabad, where the horse that stole his life is buried along with its owner – a unique example of loyalty.

According to Zahid Sarkar, Abdullah bin Abu Bakar was very fond of his horse. This horse was not just a ride but his companion in the battlefield. It is said that Abdullah bin Abu Bakr died during a war or conflict. When his body was being taken to his home, his faithful horse also joined the queue of mourners. It is believed that the horse became so sad after seeing his master dead that he stopped eating and drinking and within a few days, he too died due to heartbreak.

Abdullah bin Abu Bakr’s family and admirers were so impressed by the horse’s amazing loyalty and emotional attachment that they made a unique decision. They decided to bury this faithful horse and build a monument right next to his master’s grave. This was an honor that was usually reserved only for royal families or people of very high status. Thus, a separate mausoleum was built for this horse, near Abdullah bin Abu Bakar’s own grave, near the Kausar Bakht Takiya cemetery. A stone statue of a horse was installed on this tomb, which still stands in his memory.

This tomb is located near Kausar Bakht Takiya on the Mangalhat to Aghapura road in old Hyderabad. With time this place became famous by the name of Horse’s News or Horse’s Grave. It has become a quaint but important part of the historical and cultural landscape of Hyderabad.
