According to historians, a glimpse of the rich history of Bhuvanagiri Fort, about 3,000 years old Bhuvanagiri Fort has been a witness to the uruz and collapse of many dynasties, each of which has left its mark on its legacy. Whereas in folklore, King Rajagiri of the Chalukya dynasty is credited with its construction, the fort gained prominence during the reign of the Kakatiya dynasty. Over time it became a strategic stronghold that went into Qutubshahi and later in the hands of the Mughals after the collapse of Golconda in 1687.
