New Delhi. Devotees going to Rameshwaram have the biggest problem to stop when they reach there. The number of devotees is high and the arrangement of stay is limited. Hotels are quite expensive. To provide relief from this problem of devotees, the Indian Railways has made arrangements. Now there will be no problem to stop there. Not only this, the Ministry of Road Transport has also approved the project to take devotees by road till Rameshwaram.

According to Railway Board Chairman Satish Kumar, a total of 1337 railway stations are being redeemed in Deshwar. Out of these, more than 100 work has been completed and they have also been inaugurated. The remaining stations are working rapidly. There is a Rameshwar railway station in them, which is being completely redeveloped. The operation of trains is likely to start from September.

According to Indian Railways, construction of Rameshwaram station is going on at a cost of about Rs 112 crore. A three -storey building is built here. This station is designed like a replica of Rameshwaram Dham. Both entry and exit will be different so that passengers do not have trouble in traffic.

Dormitory to stay in station

Rest rooms and dormitras are being built to stop the devotees in the station. So that the devotees do not have to wander here and there. After getting off the train, you can stop from here and see Rameshwaram Dham. Earlier, the number of passengers arriving daily in this station was close to 9000. But now the number will increase.

It will be easy to reach by road

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is doing 4-lane on the Parmakudi-Ramnathpuram section (46.7 km) to bring devotees to Rameshwar by road. The total cost of which will be Rs 1,853 crore. At present, the contact between Madurai, Parmakudi, Ramanathapuram, Mandapam, Rameswaram and Dhanushkodi is dependent on existing 2-lane National Highway 87 (NH-87) and respective state highways, which pass through densely populated areas. After its construction, traffic will be reduced, security will improve and it will be easy to reach Rameshwaram.
