Bihar Best Place To Visit: Durgavati Dam of Kaimur district has now become the new tourist destination of Bihar. The houseboat service started here is giving tourists an experience like Dal Lake of Kashmir. Surrounded by greenery and hills, a unique combination of boating, modern facilities and natural beauty can be seen in this dam.
No need to go to Kashmir now! Experience like Dal Lake will be available in Bihar only. Houseboat service is being started in Durgavati Dam of Kaimur district. Here tourists will be able to experience both the thrill and peace of visiting the middle of the lake with their family. The Tourism Department has completed its preparations and soon it will be opened for the general public.
Durgavati Dam, also known as Karamchat Dam, situated amidst the hills and greenery of Kaimur, has now become the new tourist attraction of Bihar. The natural beauty, cool air and calm water fascinate the tourists here. There are mountains on all three sides of this dam and it remains filled with water throughout the year, making the scene very attractive.
Bihar Government’s Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Dr. Sunil Kumar has started boating service in Durgavati Dam. For the first time, a modern houseboat has been brought here, in which tourists can stay overnight. This will prove to be a new chapter in the field of tourism in Bihar.
The houseboat has every modern facility – AC room, bathroom, kitchen, seating for 8-10 people, hanging chair, comfortable sofa and lake view from the balcony. Apart from this, facilities of delicious food and luxury bed are also provided. Currently its trial is going on and after the inauguration it will be available to the general public.
DFO Chanchal Prakash said that this initiative will give a new direction to the tourism of the area. Employment opportunities will be created for local youth. Besides, businesses related to hotels, guides, transport and handicrafts will also get a boost.
Earlier, normal boat service used to run in Durgavati Dam which had a seating capacity of 10 people. But now with the introduction of houseboats, the experience here has become more exciting. Now tourists will be able to enjoy houseboating like Kashmir in this dam. It is going to add a new identity on the tourism map of Bihar.
Durgavati Dam, situated in the valleys of Kaimur, attracts tourists throughout the year, but the view here becomes even more amazing during the winter season. The morning mist, greenery of the hills and peace of the lake give the tourists such an experience as if they are in a lake of Kashmir.
