The Raymond Tomb was actually built in memory of Monsieur Michel Joachim Raymond. He was a French military officer, who joined the Nizam army of Hyderabad in the 18th century. He formed a European battalion in the Nizam’s army and played a big role in giving a state -of -the -art form of Hyderabad’s security system.
Tomb texture: without any royal appearance
The Raymond Tomb is situated on a small hill in the Malakpet region of Hyderabad. This monument is not like a grand fort or a marble dome, but a symbol of simplicity and respect. A small pillar of black stone, which is still keeping the memories of Raymond alive.
The biggest feature of Raymond Tomb is that it is the highest tribute to a French officer on Indian land. This not only reflects the military history of Hyderabad, but also a deep relationship between two different cultures – Indian and French.
Celebration of protection
Although this tomb is no less than a treasure for history lovers, but today its situation is not as strong. The local administration and archeology department have made some efforts towards conservation in recent years, but this monument still demands widespread attention and care.
