Barmer Tourist Destination: If someone tells you in the hot desert of Thar, if someone tells you the sea here, then you might not be sure. But the Ran of Redana, located 60 km from Barmer, gives an experience like Goa every year for 6 months by becoming a lake of salt water. Water will be seen here in about 4-5 kilometers away and this area starts to look like Mini Goa. Saline water, shining white layers, sinking sun view and camel-horses ride in water give this place a unique experience.
Located about 60 km from the city of Barmer, the Ran of Redana remains the center of attraction for people these days. Usually, where only a series of hot sand and dhor is seen in the Thar desert, it turns into Rann after the rain. Here a huge lake of salt water is formed all around, which gives people a sight like a sea for about six months.
When the rainy water flows from the surrounding hills and accumulates in the battle, then this area takes the form of a lake exactly. The layers of white khar glow amidst this water spread over an area of more than 5 kilometers and tourists start looking at it mini Goa. The scene of the sun sets in the water, the sand spread on the edges and the emerging waves in between, captivate the minds of those who come here.
The biggest feature of this place is that camel and horses are riding in water here. This confluence of water and desert gives tourists a different experience of adventure. Local people say that water remains stored here till winter and hundreds of people come here to enjoy picnic, photography and walk.
Here, the bottomless water spread between the sand rides on it and the layers of the horses scattered around it… all together make it the mini Goa of the desert. Due to the rains this year, the view here has started appearing like Mini Goa. It is seen as a lake for 6 months.
Apart from other districts of Rajasthan, people from Gujarat and Maharashtra are also coming here. According to local youth, if it is developed as a tourist destination properly, then this place can become the new hub of water tourism in the desert.
The rainy water accumulates here every year and lasts for about 6 months. As the heat increases, the water starts drying up and then Ran returns to his old identity to the salt ground. But as long as there is water, this place offers the seas of the sea between the desert.
