Hyderabad: In this era of social media, travel influencers have explored every corner of Hyderabad, but one place is still anonymous on the outskirts of the city. Texas Rocks Valley, also known as Mansa Hills, is still far from tourists’ eyes compared to places like Anantagiri hills and Laknavaram Lake. This valley is a great place for those looking for solitude and natural beauty.
Located just 30 km south of Hyderabad, this valley is in Hayatnagar area of Rajendranagar division. To reach the valley, one has to walk some distance. On reaching here, you will be welcomed with huge red rocks, deep valleys and shallow water tanks made in monsoon. The texture of the rocks here is so different that it looks like the state of Texas in America. The shadows falling on the rocks here in the sunlight are like heaven for photographers and drones anthusiasts. Keep in mind that rocks can be slippery, especially after rain. Take water and sunscreen with you because there will be no shadow here. Do not spread garbage, it is a wonderful natural place and it is our responsibility to keep it clean.
What can you do here?
There is no fixed trail here but you can roam the valley on your own free will. Just take care on the edges. This place is famous for photography, pre-wedding shoots and film shoots. The view here in the monsoon becomes even more beautiful. If you want to spend time with friends or family in a calm environment for picnic, then it is a great place.
The best time to go is that of June-September when the water pools are formed between the rocks and the whole valley looks green. It is located in Hayatnagar, Rajendranagar division. You can also go by private car, bike or bus. But keep in mind that the way to reach here is not easy, there is no signboard nor clear guidelines. GPS also does not work many times, so the local people may have to ask way.
