The aim of this initiative of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is not only to decorate the city but also to give a positive message to the citizens and add them through art. There is some social message hidden behind every artwork, such as environmental protection, social harmony, legacy of the city, or just a feeling of happiness. These installations are not just ordinary paintings on the walls, but are three-dimensional arts, sculptures, and theme-based designs. For example, an installation depicts the mail of Hyderabad’s iconic Charminar and IT hub, while somewhere the message of coexistence with nature is given through birds’ nests.
Enthusiasm of citizens and social media
These artifacts have won the hearts of the citizens. People are photographed in front of them and are sharing on social media, due to which the discussion of Hyderabad’s beauty is spreading far and wide. This initiative is not only contributing to the beautification of the city, but is also creating a sense of pride among the people as a citizen. This effort of GHMC proves that art can make public places more vibrant and reach the general public and bring a positive change. Hyderabad is once again not only ‘City of Pearls’, but is also making its mark as ‘City of Art’.
