The celebration of Dussehra in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh lasts for 75 days, which is the longest Dussehra festival in India. This festival begins with the worship of Devi Danteshwari and organizes tribal traditions, such as ‘Pata Yatra’, ‘Nisha Yatra’ and ‘Muria Darbar’.
In Varanasi, Lucknow and Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Dussehra is prepared by the staging of Ramlila. The artists here perform the characters of Ramayana and finally effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhakarna are burnt. This scene is very attractive to the audience.
