Bageshwar. The ‘Valley of Flowers’ (Valley of Flowers), situated in the lap of Chamoli district of the state, is no less than heaven for nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts. This valley is included in the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Every year thousands of tourists reach to see its beauty. The trek season of the Valley of Flowers runs every year from June to October. During this time, the valley is covered with various colorful flowers. Bhuvan Choubey, a senior mountaineer of Bageshwar, says to Local 18 that the trek starts from Govindghat. From where Ghangharia is reached after a 13 -km walk. Ghangharia is the base camp of this trek. A distance of about 3 kilometers from here can be entered into the valley.
Every day fees
From this year, the digital permit system has been implemented for admission in the valley. For Indian tourists, three days pass is available for Rs 150, while foreign tourists have to pay 600 rupees. If you have to stop for more days, then Indians have to pay Rs 50 and foreigners have to be paid Rs 250 per day. Permits can be obtained through online website. Can’t stop
Although this trek is not easy. During the rainy season, the roads become slippery, and there is a situation of slipping on the mountains. In this case, keep waterproof jackets, woolen clothes, first aid kits and trekking shoes with essential items. Take the help of trained guide and porter. The trekking time in the valley is only from 7 am to 12 noon. It is mandatory for tourists to return by evening, as the valley is not allowed to stay at night.
These three months best
The months of July, August and September are considered to be the most suitable for trek, as during this time diverse species of flowers bloom. Flowers of rare species like Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, Brahmakamal, Orchid and many Himalayan birds and animals are also seen during trekking.
