According to historian Dr. Shamiuddin, this mansion is above a hill, which is called Erragadda in the original Telugu language. For this reason, Nawab Fakhrul Mulk decided to name this palace as Erram destination. It is written in some books that Arrum or Iram (ايرام), Persian word means heaven. For this reason, it was named Erram Manzil. Due to being on Lal hill, this palace was painted with red color. The Nawab intended that the mansion be known by two equal-dhwani names. Iram floor for Persian-friendly Muslim clans of the state and Erram Manzil for local Telugu people.
Danish Mujtaba says that it is strange that people do not know about this amazing palace. Even many local people do not know about this place and I think the solitude here gives mysterious beauty to this palace. In this regard, another tourist Samp Kumar said that Erram Manzil Palace gives a unique experience to the cyclists. At the end of this, there is a challenging climb which enthusiasts the cyclists.
