Amarnath Yatra 2025: Every year when the Amarnath Yatra starts, lakhs of devotees start preparing to see Baba Barfani. This time the journey is starting from 3 July 2025. This journey is a symbol of faith on one side, and on the other side also a difficult journey. Some people are scared after the Pahalgam terror attack in April, but the administration has made strong security arrangements so that there is no problem.
Amarnath Yatra is done through two routes-Halgam and Baltal. Both routes have different experiences and distances. If you want to go by air travel, then a direct flight is available to Srinagar. At the same time, trains are available from almost every big city of the country for those traveling by train.
Stay arrangement
There is an option of sharing tent to stay in Baltal, which costs about 500 rupees. There is also a facility of free stay in some places, but it is necessary to reach there first because the crowd is more.
The distance from Baltal to the cave is about 14 kilometers and the entry is from Dormail Gate. At the same time, this distance from Pahalgam is about 32 kilometers and there is an entry from Chandanwadi. Before starting the journey, you have to take RFID card, whose fees are Rs 250. Travel is not allowed without this card.
Entry from Domail Gate is from 4 am to 10 am. After this you can start the journey. There are many places on the way, where food is available for free. If you do not want to go on foot, then there is an option of horse or palanquin. The horse’s fare is 2000 to 2500 rupees on one side and 4 to 5 thousand rupees on both sides. The cost of palanquin costs about 8 thousand rupees. However, even after going by horse or palanquin, the last 1 kilometer has to be decided.
If you want to see without a crowd, then leave early in the morning. The initial 2 km distance from Dormail can be fixed with a battery rickshaw or small bus, which makes the walk a little easier.

Before starting the journey, do register and follow the instructions of the administration. If you are going for the first time, it would be better to consult an experienced person or tour operator. This journey is definitely difficult to see Baba Barfani, but if done with the mind, it gives a very special experience.
