Adi Kailash, situated in the lap of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, is not only the center of spiritual faith, but also a unique example of natural beauty. This is the same holy site, which is considered to be the way for the Pandavas to heaven. This has religious significance like Kailash Mansarovar. Let’s see the history associated with the Pandavas and the specialty of this place …….. (Photo courtesy: Sagar Devradi)

Adi Kailash is also called ‘Chhota Kailash’, which is a sacred pilgrimage site for Shiva devotees. According to religious belief, this place is considered to be the last route for the Pandavas’ heavenly journey. The spiritual atmosphere of this place, iconic as the abode of Lord Shiva, gives peace to the mind and peace to the soul. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here, he also described this experience as a “touching man”. The high Himalayan peaks here, snow -capped litigants and mesmerized scenes make it a divine place.

In the year 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Adi Kailash Yatra gave this region not only national, but also global recognition. After reaching there, the attention of the people went towards this wonderful place. PM Modi not only visited here, but also remained absorbed in meditation. His spiritual connection is motivating not only the youth but also foreign tourists to come here. After the PM’s visit, along with the sanctity of Adi Kailash, the tracking route, security and convenience system has also gained momentum. Now this place has become the center of adventure tourism, not only religious, but also.

The journey from Nainital to Adi Kailash is about 350–370 km long, which is full of devotion and adventure. This route reaches Kailash via Nainital -Pithoragarh -Dharchula -Gunji -Nabhidhang. The path is bumpy and hill, in which adventure tracking, rivers and dense forests have to be passed. ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) and experienced local guides provide security and guidance to passengers in this visit. During the journey, there is a new natural shade at every stop, which turns fatigue into pleasure. This route becomes a life experience for devotees.

Everyone is amazed to see the Om Parvat located near Adi Kailash. The natural shape of ‘4’ is made on this mountain, which is clearly visible. This figure is caused by the creation of snow and rocks, but its reality remains a mystery even today. Scientists may consider it a natural coincidence, but devotees consider it a sign of God. The Om Parvat is located near the Indo-Tibetan border and the region is also sensitive to security, so the journey is possible only with special permission and guide. This mountain is a wonderful confluence of faith and uniqueness of nature.

Darma Valley and Panchachuli mountain range of Pithoragarh district etc. are another attraction of Kailash Yatra. The scenes here are so beautiful that the tourists are unable to move away from their camera. The Panchachuli is a group of five peaks of the Himalayas, which when the first ray of the sun touches, that view seems to be heavenly. It is from here that the base camp starts, which is an ideal site for tracking lovers.

Gabryang Vyas Valley is another rare site located in the border area of Uttarakhand, which is popularly known due to the Kali River flowing on the border of India and Nepal. This valley is not only geographically special, but the natural views present in it captivate. High peaks of the Himalayas from the valley, snow -laden hills and the Kalkal sound of the river make it a quiet and picturesque site. During the journey, when devotees pass through this valley, they seem to have a spiritual touch in the air and views here.
