1. Ramghat
It would be best to start the journey of Chitrakoot with Ramghat. Situated on the banks of the Mandakini river, this ghat is known for a very beautiful and calm atmosphere. It is believed that Lord Rama, Lakshmana and mother Sita used to bathe here during exile. The view of Aarti in the evening is worth seeing. The light of the lamps and the tune of bhajan gives a different energy experience with relaxing the mind.
2. Gupta Godavari
If you want to see a mysterious and beautiful place after Ramghat, then go to Gupta Godavari. It is a group of two natural caves, which is about 18 km from Chitrakoot. Water always flows in one of these caves, but till date no one has known where this water comes from. The cool atmosphere inside the cave and the mysterious view forces people to come here again and again.
Hanuman Dhara is the best place for those who like height and adventure. It is a temple located on a hill, where the stairs have to be climbed to reach. It is believed that here Hanuman ji extinguished the fire of his tail after Lanka Dahan. The scene from above is so beautiful that all your fatigue goes away. The atmosphere here attracts both devotees and tourists.
4. Sati Anusuiya Temple
If you went to Chitrakoot and did not see the Sati Anusuiya temple, then the journey will be considered incomplete. This temple is the tapobhoomi of sage Atri and Mata Anusuiya. Situated between dense forests, this site is very calm and sacred. The natural beauty and religious significance here gives people experience deep devotion and peace.
