Hyderabad: The city is famous worldwide for its tall buildings, high-tech city and historical heritage. The Charminar of Hyderabad, which people from all over the world come to see, is an important historical heritage. Similarly, a thousand column temple, called the Gauzand Pillar Temple, is located in Warangal, about 150 km from Hyderabad. This temple is known as a major historical and religious place.

History and Architecture
According to historian M. Nayak, this temple was built by Kakatiya King Rudradeva in the reign of the Kakatiya dynasty (12th-14th century). The design of this temple is star-checked and it has more than 300 pillars, not 1000 columns, which give it a unique structure.

Three gods

There are different pavilions for three main gods in the temple premises. The first pavilion is dedicated to Lord Shiva, where Nandi Maharaj is seated in front of him. The second pavilion is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and the third pavilion is dedicated to the Sun God. Every day hundreds of devotees come here to worship.

Tourist place
The temple was included in 2021 in the temporary list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Every year thousands of tourists and history lovers come to see its huge Nandi idol, complex carving and craftsmanship.

You can reach Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by bus or train by bus or train. The distance of the temple from Warangal railway station is about 6 km. You can also easily reach Hyderabad from Telangana transport bus.
