Highlights

- Charging points will be installed in shopping malls and market areas.
- 180 EV charging centers will be available in the city.
Zero carbon city
A senior official of the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TGREDCO) said that the institution has decided to set up these new charging points at different places in the city by compromising with GHMC. This step has been taken under the government scheme to reduce carbon emissions as well as to make Hyderabad a zero carbon city to promote the use of electric vehicles in the city.
According to the official, 90 charging centers have already been set up by TGREDCO while 40 others are going to be operational soon. Apart from this, a total of 180 EV charging centers will be available in the city after the establishment of 50 new points. You can make charging with the help of the app and make payment easily with credit card debit card and UPI.
Where are the charging points looking
GHMC has chosen shopping malls, multiplexes, market areas and other busy public places for these charging stations. Each charging unit will have both high-speed 15 kW and slow charging 122-150 kW facilities where two vehicles can be charged simultaneously. All units will be operated with renewable energy. These charging points will be installed on a revenue sharing model by GHMC and TGREDCO. Also, CCTV cameras will be installed on each unit to prevent incidents of theft.
