Ticket Cancel: If you are going to travel in the train and want to cancel the ticket for some reason, then take special care of the time. The sooner you cancele the ticket, the more money will be returned.

How much will be refunded when you cancel the ticket?
Highlights
- Railway chart will now be built 24 hours in advance.
- The amount of refund depends on time on cancellation of tickets.
- The new rule is currently in testing phase.
What is the new system?
So far, the chart is prepared about 4 hours before the train runs. Because of this, the waiting tickets have to wait for a long time to confirm. But the chart in the new system will be built 24 hours in advance, so that the passengers will know a day in advance whether their ticket has been confirmed or not. This will make it easier to plan the journey and if you want to cancel the ticket, then you will also get time.
Refund also changes according to coach
The ticket fare is different in each class, so the amount of money is also different. If you are traveling in AC coach, then the charge will be deducted. AC tickets are expensive than sleeper or general coaches, so the loss on cancellation is also more. On the other hand, if you have booked waiting tickets and it is not confirmed, then it gets almost all the money refund on canceling.
If you have booked tickets online, then you can check your refund status by visiting IRCTC website or app. There you will also see how much money is deducted and how much will come back.
The new rule has not been implemented yet
At present, the rule of chart being made 24 hours ago has not been implemented across the country. It has been adopted as testing at just one station. If everything goes well, it will be gradually applied to other places as well. Then new rules related to refund will also be issued by the Railways.
